Ron Lamprecht, Vice President of New Media for NBC Universal Cable, oversees business initiatives for the development and protection of NBCU's cable and new media assets. 

In this role, Lamprecht serves as the lead New Media contact for Comcast, Time Warner, Cox and In Demand, as well as the distribution of NBCU's cable and video-on-demand (VOD) services to Telco and alternative distribution platforms.  He continues to support various strategic and technical NBCU projects relating to the distribution and protection of NBCU’s content. 

In addition to the above operational and product development responsibilities, Lamprecht has been instrumental in a variety of key corporate strategic initiatives including how new technology can be harnessed to create new products and platforms for consumers, as well as how technology can be used to protect NBCU’s intellectual property and combat digital piracy.

Most recently as Director, Lamprecht managed the re-launch of Bravo HD+ to Universal HD and was a key member of the Vivendi Universal cable and international diligence team, focusing on cable and international assets.  He also re-launched WNBC cable signal to Puerto Rico and US “white area” cable affiliates.

Prior to this role, Lamprecht was Manager, Business Development at NBC, where he was responsible for assessing new business opportunities for NBC. Lamprecht is Greenbelt certified, recognition of his success in using GE’s Six Sigma methodology, tools and techniques to improve the quality and efficiency of business processes.  Using his Six Sigma knowledge, he also led NBC Business Development's digitization efforts, deploying best of breed technology and process solutions to the team in an effort to increase overall efficiency and productivity.

Lamprecht joined NBC in 2000 in the Business Development group at CNBC.com.  Before NBC, he was a project engineer for a firm specializing in the design of large-scale trading floors and technology centers.

Lamprecht has an MBA from NYU’s Stern School of Business and is a graduate of the Cooper Union for the Advancement of Science and Art, with a degree in electrical engineering. He is currently an adjunct instructor at Columbia University in the Executive Information Technology Management program, and is part of the GE Scholars program, where he mentors a high school student. Lamprecht lives in Manhattan with his wife, Susanne and son Julian.
